Sr.. Shaffer successfully defended RS at a preliminary hearing charging RS with violating the state’s uniform firearms act. Through careful weaving of testimony and timely objections, Sr.. Shaffer was able to keep out information vital to holding his client’s case for court. Most importantly, that RS had allegedly stolen money from the business he was working at and staged a fake robbery. Careful cross further let out that when RS was arrested, he was arrested at his job. Knowing the specific exceptions to various parts of the crimes code helped immensely and Mr. Shaffer successfully argued that his client’s charges were not sustainable due to the place of business exception. The judge agreed and the case was discharged for lack of evidence.
